PSE12 won't open or work at all. A lot of people seem to have this problem, but nobody from Adobe seems to actually answer the question. Has anybody resolved this?

I just got PSE12 and Windows 8. Started to work the first day, but not working at all a week later. Reading through the threads, this seems to be a recurring problem. A lot of people are saying they also have the problem, but I have yet to see an answer. Has anybody resolved this? I am not a computer techie.
