While the shake reduction preview may use the GPU, the detailed adjustment clearly does not - at least on my two computers. I noted in an earlier post that the i5 3470 has additional instructions compared to the i7 880 and *speculated* that the extreme slowness of shake reduction on the i5 3470 might be caused by an algorithm bug - it's just a WAG.
