You probably shot with a neutral profile, and have a more "standard" profile applied in Lightroom.
Consider choosing Neutral Camera Calibration Profile in Lightroom.
I mean, defaults are adjustable for a reason - not everybody likes the same thing - I used a de-brightening tone curve rolled into a custom profile as my default in Lr3, which did reduce contrast a smidge. Point being: make sure you have an appropriate camera profile chosen along with those modified default (or preset) values.
PS - you can modify Lr defaults, or use a preset upon import, or both..
