we are looking to hear from interested developers and/or companies from the BC community / forum who would be interested in the build of a new intranet site. We would handle all the front-end design but would require assistance with the back-end build with ELO integration and Technology One integration down the track.
If anyone can assist or is interested in learning more about this opportunity, please email performance@engineroomdesign.com.au We are eager to discuss timeframes and costs ASAP
Overall Requirements & Key Functionality
- intranet is to be hosted externally, and separate from the client's existing website (this will just mean a separate domain and hosting with BC?)
- enable external / off-site intranet access
- Responsive: Intranet site is to be usable and functional across all platforms from a 28-inch desktop monitor to a tablet, to a smartphone.
- Individual secure logins with document access limitable by user.
- Allow and enforce acknowledgement of document updates via a popup alert (or similar) upon log-in or whenever a doc is updated - this acknowledgement is to be recorded and reported on, on an individual level
- Providing notifications on page load when policies/procedures are updated - Add a requirement to acknowledge policy/procedure document updates in order to continue using the intranet.
- integration of integration with NAL's document management system – ELOprofessional
- integration with Technology One to follow in the next 12 months.
- Integrates and displays an individual user’s ELO/Technology One workflow. Dynamically display workflow depending on the logged in user
- search functionality for document locating, telephone directories etc. Searches should be combined and dynamic)
- events module
- Blog page and most recent blog updates fed through to home page
- Automatically displaying the intranet when a user logs into their PC (via internal client script) (would this be the client's nternal setup?)
- An ‘information hub’ will contain useful plug ins / widgets e.g. weather, social media feeds and dynamically update, world clocks, blog updates and other NAPL announcements. These are to be customisable allowing personal preference of world clock displays or post code for weather feed
- Display a list of content categories of interest, e.g. most viewed documents, most recent updates or added content
- User feedback form and links to staff surveys (i.e. external links to SurveyMonkey or can these be embedded in the site?)
Key Page creation (we will design the front end)
Essentially the site will be made up of feeds, plug ins, modules and ELO links so it is hard to say how many pages are required. Here's a list of the essential page types though:
- Home page with plugins, links and navigation
- Alert pop up (for updated documents with tick box for acknowledgement, flagging in CRM of the staff activity and workflow notification or reporting functionality)
- Customised workspace with ELO workflow feed
- Generic content page with ability to incorporate video feeds, web apps, media downloads and ELO links.
- Feedback Web Form
- Blog preview page and full blog article page with colour categories (per existing NAL site)
- Events page - calendar view
