In addition to Jao vdl's suggestions you can get a more accurate preview in the Library module by NOT using the 'Fit' or 'FIll' Zoom view settings. This forces LR to "resize" (i.e. interpolate) the image twice so that it "fits" or "fills" the preview window causing the image to look less-sharp. Instead use the numbered (1:8, 1:4, 1:3 1:2, 1:1) Zoom settings, which uses the Library Preview JPEG pyramid image without applying a 2nd interpolation! The same effect can be seen inside PS so it's not something unique to LR.
