Update, I got it to work finally. Had to reinstall everything. Something must have been corrupted.
Once it was done, Adobe Update manager asked me to sign in and the Extension manager connected to the internet (to verify the app was paid for I assume). Then it installed as it should. I guess the previous app 2.5.4 must have been if you don't connect to verify. More Adobe security run around. Trouble is, if I didn't have this work station in an are that we could connect to the internet, I would have been out of luck.
