Thanks for suggestion.
I have been doing as you recommend. When I save a child page it is as if the style sheets don't apply in live view.
This problem only occurs when I use a template with Spry Menu Bar installed.
html files created from other templates without a Spry Menu Bar reflect the style sheets correctly.
