Re: Why is there no backwards compatibility? It seems blatantly obvious you are trying to force your users to upgrade in order to increase profits.

I understand this concept and would be OK with that answer, but when I purchase CS6 suite close to when it comes out only to be met with "You can't open this file" errors a year or less later, I feel cheated. For the money spent, it should not be outdated for at least 2-3 years. It just seems like they either don't care about the users who've invested in their company already, or they've just forgotten that not everyone can afford to drop $1,000 a year in updates.

 

Anytime I mention something about the price, I'm met with something along the lines of "that's not that much compared to the profit you'll make". It's a competitive market though out there and we must do our best to keep our prices low. $1,000 for upgrades per year isn't much alone, but you have to factor in all the additional overhead and Adobe makes up for a huge slice of that.
