Retain html links when converting from word to pdf

Hello

I have a user who is converting a word document with html links and when we convert to a pdf the links no longer work. Also when we try to do a save as it causes the text to become jumbled and look close together instead of how it normally would. I also checked to see if there was a pdfmaker addin but there is not. We are using office 2010 and acrobat 8. we cannot upgrade to any newer version of adobe at this time. the only work around is to convert to a pdf and then do advanced editing and individually link each html links but that is a pain. any idea how we can actually convert to pdf without losing the links? we are using the print to pdf feature
