Adobe Captivate 8 stops working.

I have Adobe Captivate 8, running on Windows 8. Up until recently it worked fine. Now it stops working as soon as I make a keystroke during a capture, and it sometimes freezes my mouse. It doesn't provide an error message, just stops working. Can anyone help me get it working again? FYI, I have already uninstalled it and re-installed it. I have other e-learning and capture tools on my laptop (my hard drive is not near being at capacity, though) and they still work fine.
