Dynamically replacing a panel in a palette?

Hi, my question is as following:

My plugin has a palette with a panel and two modes. These two modes should show a different panel in the same palette. upon transitioning from one mode to another the content of the palette (aka the panel itself) should be replaced with the panel from the second mode.

i've already looked at the sample DynamicPanel, but this doesn't replace the panel but it dynamically creates new palettes with the new panels.
