You can still buy a perpetual license to the superseded CS6 here. Pay once, keep forever. But there will be no updates.
The monthly subscription rates are rent only. They're not rent to buy. You never own the software.
On the plus side, you get all major upgrades and minor updates included for no extra cost as long as you keep paying your monthly subscription.
